Dreamy Proposal at Stow Lake

Some proposals are spontaneous sparks; others are grand, heartfelt masterclasses in thoughtful planning. Teddy’s proposal to Anwesa at Stow Lake in Golden Gate Park was entirely the latter.


To create an unforgettable day, Teddy designed a complete citywide scavenger hunt across San Francisco. Accompanied by her close friend, she spent hours following a trail of handwritten clues, solving personal riddles that guided them across the city toward an undisclosed final destination.

Meanwhile, behind the scenes at the historic Chinese Pavilion on the edge of Stow Lake, an entire hidden world was coming together. Teddy had coordinated with her sister, who flew in secretly for the occasion, along with her parents and closest friends. As the minutes ticked closer to her arrival, the energy beneath the trees was electric—part nervous anticipation, part overwhelming excitement. We ducked into position, cameras tucked away, watching the lakeside path for her approach.


When she rounded the corner and recognized the pavilion, the scavenger hunt fell into place. Seeing Teddy waiting for her—surrounded by their nearest and dearest stepping out from hiding—brought an instant rush of disbelief and happy tears. When he dropped to one knee, the quiet park filled with cheers, hugs, and pure joy.


After the whirlwind of congratulations, we slipped away for an intimate couple's portrait session around Stow Lake.

During our initial planning, Teddy had shared mood boards illustrating his partner’s dream aesthetic: a soft, romantic fairytale feel filled with blooming flora, gentle rosy shades, delicate light flares, and dreamy background blurs. Stow Lake provided the perfect canvas. By leaning into the dappled canopy light, surrounded greenery, and quiet stone pathways, we captured an ethereal, timeless look that mirrored the magic of their day.


It was tender and gentle—a true storybook chapter brought to life in the heart of San Francisco.
