Engagement At Mount Tam: Redwoods, Rolling Hills & Ocean Views

Mount Tamalpais might be the most cinematic engagement location in the entire Bay Area — where else can you go from towering redwoods to spectacular rolling hills above the clouds to sweeping Pacific views in a five-minute drive?


We started Amita and Kieran's session in a quiet redwood grove just up the road from the famous Trojan Point overlook. Soft filtered light, cathedral-tall trees, and not another soul around. Then, instead of joining the crowds at the well-known viewpoints, we drove six minutes to one of my favorite lesser-known spots on the mountain: a small pullout in the hills with a full, open view over Stinson Beach and the ridgelines rolling down to the ocean.


That's the real magic of Mt. Tam for engagement photos — everyone knows the postcard spots, but the mountain is full of private corners that are more spectacular and completely quiet. Kieran and Amita had the entire hillside to themselves as the light turned gold, which meant no waiting, no onlookers, just the two of them being exactly who they are together.
