One of the best quirks of the Bay Area microclimates is standing in warm, crisp sunshine while watching a massive wall of fog swallow the rest of the world just a few miles away.
That was the backdrop for this surprise proposal at Tiburon Shoreline Park. While we originally hoped for the Golden Gate Bridge to peek out across the water, the bay had other plans—the bridge was completely buried under a heavy blanket of white fog. But right where we were standing on the Tiburon shoreline, the afternoon was warm, clear, and flooded with beautiful, bright coastal sun.
After the whirlwind "YES," we took our time exploring the quirky corners of the park. Just steps away from the iconic metal playground elephant sits a weathered little brick tower tucked right between the waterfront homes. It’s an eccentric, slightly unexpected sight in the middle of a manicured residential stretch, but that's what made it so fun. We wandered around the brick textures, soaked up the afternoon light, and let them just laugh, breathe, and revel in being newly engaged.
You don't need a picture-perfect postcard view when you have genuine warmth, pure surprise, and two people completely wrapped up in each other.
