When Minnie reached out, she was clear about what she needed: no stiff posing, no rehearsed smiles. After four or five years of annual family portraits, they had plenty of upright, polished photographs. What they wanted this time was real life—honest interactions, movement, and the unstructured rhythm of their family as it actually exists right now.
Mori Point in Pacifica is built for that kind of breathing room. While curated spaces like the Stanford Cactus Garden have their own charm, coastal headlands give young kids the freedom to actually run, explore trails, and just be wild and free.
Together with their little puppy, we spent the afternoon tracing the bluffs above the ocean. We caught the golden hour dropping into the Pacific, staying out through the quiet twilight as the sky shifted into that pale, chalky lilac and purple coastal light. These are the moments between the poses—loud, quiet, and completely their own.
